AMITY MATTERSBECAUSE FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS MATTER
A few announcements:
We had a great turn out yesterday here in Amity, 129 voters! It was nice to see everyone and have such great participation.
Update on the phone internet situation:
Pioneer is having trouble porting out the office number to the new phone, but I have been assured that we will not lose the number and that the phone should still be working tomorrow, even though the shut off notice for the DSL lines is tomorrow (Nov 5th). Just want people to be aware incase things do stop working tomorrow. We are getting Fidium at the office but there is an install process that will likely take a few weeks, so I may have to get creative here at some point.
Upcoming office hour changes:
The office will be closed next Wednesday, 11/11, in observance of Veteran's day.
The week of Thanksgiving:
The office will be open Monday 11/23 from 8 to 4 and Tuesday 11/24 from 10 to 6. The office will be closed the rest of that week for Thanksgiving. The office will not be open on the last Saturday of the month (11/28).
The next Selectboard meeting will be held on Thursday November 12th at 4pm at the town office.
The next Veteran's honor roll meeting will be held on November 18, 2026 at 9am at the Reed School Community center.
We had our riffle raffle drawing on October 21st, a big congratulations to the winner Jeffery Bouchard! Thank you to all who bought tickets; the Veteran's Honor Roll committee has decided to do a second riffle raffle due to the success of the first, I will be posting more on that soon!
Follow up on phone/internet at the office:
I have been working on transferring our phone number to a new line, 207-532-2485 will remain the office number, I may have a brief disruption in connectivity but we are getting there! As of November 5th we will no longer have a dedicated fax line.
Have a great day everyone!
The Next Selectmen’s meeting will be Thursday November 12th at 4pm at the Town Office.
